Hyundai Driver Assist Features
When it comes to choosing your next car, safety should always be a priority. Hyundai understand this, so have created innovative safety features that are included with brand-new Hyundai models as standard.
Some of the features are designed to help you navigate the area better, whereas others are in place to protect the occupants of the vehicle in the event of an accident.
Older cars don’t have as many innovative safety features so by standard, are slightly inferior, meaning it’s important to weigh up the options before you decide whether to purchase new or used.
Hyundai Safety Features
Lane Keeping Assist
Driving on motorways can be laborious and tiresome, so Lane Keeping Assist is designed to prevent any unintentional lane switches. If the indicator is not activated, the system will give off an audible and visual warning so the driver can correct their steering.
ISOFIX
If you have young children, the ISOFIX points in the rear seats allow you to anchor child’s car seats safely.
E-Call
E-Call is designed to provide added protection to the occupants in the event of an accident. If the airbags are deployed, the E-Call system will call the emergency services. You can also manually press the SOS button for emergency assistance 24/7.
Rear Occupant Alert
The Rear Occupant Alert uses ultrasonic sensors to monitor the rear seats. If the driver leaves the vehicle and the system detects movement in the rear seats, the horn will sound and the lights flash to alert the driver.
Autonomous Emergency Braking
Using a front mounted camera, Forward Collision Assist will check the road ahead for any preceding vehicles. If the system detects a collision is imminent, the brakes will automatically be applied to prevent a serious accident.
Blind Spot Collision Warning
Using sensors mounted on the rear bumper, vehicles approaching from behind will trigger a warning light on the relevant door mirror. If the driver attempts to indicate and move lanes, an audible alert will sound. This feature is available on Premium models.
High Beam Assist
If you regularly drive at night, you’ll know how much focus it takes to switch between low and high beam as oncoming traffic appears. With High Beam Assist, the system will automatically detect vehicles ahead and switch between low and high beam as appropriate.
Highway Drive Assist
Coming as standard on Ultimate trims, Highway Drive Assist combines both Lane Keep Assist and Smart Cruise Control as well as map data and sensors to provide steering adjustments as you drive along the motorway.
Remote Smart Park Assist
Available with Ultimate Hybrid models, Remote Smart Park Assist allows you to remotely park into a parking space and depart he space as required. This feature is ideal for areas where parking spaces are tight and the next car along has left very little room.
Forward Collision Avoidance Assist
Using a camera and a radar, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist is designed to automatically apply the brakes if the vehicle ahead suddenly slows down or if pedestrians are detected in the road.
Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning
Available on the Ultimate models, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning is fitted on Ultimate models and designed to reduce the risk of a collision whilst reversing out of a space.
Blind Spot View Monitor
For additional safety, the Blind Spot View Monitor allows you to see the rear right and left-hand side views using a screen on the digital cluster.
As soon as you activate one of the indicators, the camera will show the view to the rear sides so you can see whether there are any upcoming cars that could prevent you from switching lanes.
This feature isn’t standard on all models, but is available with the Tech Pack on select Ultimate models.
Driver Attention Alert
The Driver Attention Alert feature will monitor your driving patterns and provide updates and alerts when it is time to take a break. If a pattern of fatigue is identified, the Driver Attention Alert system will give off an audible message.
Head Up Display
Standard on the Ultimate trim, the Head Up Display projects driving information onto the drivers line of sight, allowing them to continue to focus on the road ahead. Some of the information that is displayed includes current speed and navigation information.
7 Airbags
The 7 airbag system features airbags including a driver’s seat centre side airbag to prevent head injuries caused by passengers colliding in the event of an accident.
